The First Day at Douglas College

.......

The Second Day in New Westminster

It was similar to the first day. After light breakfast, the couple took me to see the way to the college again. Then we went shopping at Safeway Supermarket. We droopped at 7-eleven convenience store and I bought the $5 international card phone. So surprising! $5, but I can call about 264 minutes (I don't believe it!)
In the afternoon at 5.00 pm, I myself tried to walk to the college. I walked past the Canada Games Pool, QUEEN PARK, the City Hall. It took almost 1 hour, because I walked and took the photos along the way. Why did I take photos? Because if I get lost, I can see the photos and ask somebody around that area.
The food I had for dinner that day was pasta. After dinner, mr.Mitch asked me about the everyday lunch whether Mrs. Kim or I would make it. I told him that it was her, because I knew that she already had everyday menu for me. Before going to bed, I tried phoning to Thailand. Then I went to bed at about 8.00 pm. I felt nervous because the next day would be my first time at college!

The First Day in New Westminster

I got up around 7.00 am. The temperature on that day was 13 degree. In my bedroom which contain two beds, two tables, one desk, one close and one television. I don't think that the heater was in my room because it was quite cool at night. I took a bath at 7.30 am. The bathroom is very comfortable. I had a cup of coffee and toast for my breakfast. In my homestay the coffee electric kettle and toaster are available. I said hello to my homestay hosts, Mr. Mitch and Mrs. Kim Gibson, almost everyday. I would like to talk a little about my homestay family. There are four people in the family, parents, one son whose name is Steve and one daughter whose name is (I forgot.OK. I'll tell you later). Mr. Mitch is quite frank and sincere. Sometimes he looks like my father because he gave me a lot of suggests and advices. If I did something wrong, he would tell me immediately. But Mrs. Kim is quite quiet and kind of me because she cooked a meal for me. Their son, Steve, is friendly and their daughter lives with his boyfriend. I seldom see her.
At the first day, Mrs. Kim and Steve stayed at home because Mr.Mitch had a meeting at that day.
At lunchtime, I asked mrs. Kim to make lunch myself. She also tried it and said , "Good taste!" But she tried once! That's enough. After that she drove me to see the way to the college. If I take a bus, it takes about 5-7 minutes. The price for one zone is 2.50 dollars. If I walk, it takes about 35-40 minutes. Wow! it's so tiring!
In the evening she made pizza for me. After dinner, I asked her to use a computer. She said, "OK! Go ahead!" In fact, in the homestay rules they did not allow me to use it, because they were afraid of the viruses coming to their computer. You know? At night I arrived there, Mr. Mitch said to me, " I avoid the computer. I don't like it. But if you wanna use it. Ask her." The rwasons why they minded this matter because in the past some students downloaded the porn pictures. And viruses came in their computer. They had to pay 200 dollars for hiring the programmer to reset. I used it until 21.00 pm. Then I ewnt to bed.

My Journey to Vancouver, Canada

On the second of May, 2008
At 12.30 pm, I left my mansion to Suwannabhumi Airport (Thailand's international airport) with Ajarn Phunet (the driver), Ajarn Saen, Taweesak , Ajarn Tip and her sister. After I arrived at the airport at around 1.30 pm, I checked in at Terminal R where EVAAIR is located and got two boarding Pass Cards ; one in Bangkok and another in Taipei. I got inside the lounge and waited for the flight at Gate E10. At 16.25, I got on the plane and the plane took off
at 17.00 pm, about 35 minutes delay.

I flew to Taipei at 21.30 (Taipei time). It took three hours and half there. The difference between Thailand and Taipei is one hour. I transfered to Vancouver there. I waited for the time to Vancouver for two hours and half.
Then I flew to Vancouver at 23.55 pm. While flying to Vancouver, I had a friend who is a Canadian and now he is an English teacher at Sasasas School in Bang Bua Thong, Nonthaburi.
His name is Joey. And his hometown is (I forgot the name). We talked a lot about Thailand and English teaching. I arrived in Vancouver at 20.13 (Canada's time), but it's still light not dark. While I was checking out, the official asked me a few questions such as 'What is your purpose to come to Canada?', 'Do you have letter from the college?', How much money do you bring to Canada?'. After checking out, I went outside the airport and saw Khun Melanie Yip waiting for my friends and me. She said 'Welcome to Vancouver!' and hired a car to take us and our luggages to New Westminster. While traveling the driver was very talkative. He talked a lot, non-stop talking until we reached the college. I saw Mrs. Cecilia there. She was contacting the home-stay hosts to pick us up. At that time Mrs. Melanie picked two Thai students up and said ' See you on Monday.' My home-stay hosts are Mr. Mitch & Mrs. Kim Gibson. After I came to the home-stay, greeted Mrs. Kim and went to bed immediately because I was very exhausted..
